FoxFire Counseling & Therapy
In-person office located in Portland, Oregon. Serving all of Oregon via telehealth.
Your story—lit from within.
Foxfire is a natural bioluminescent glow that appears in darkness—a subtle, unexpected light that emerges during periods of transformation.
That image guides the therapeutic work we do here.
Change rearranges us. Sometimes quietly. Sometimes it’s a seismic shift felt in your body, your relationships, your sense of who you are. FoxFire Therapy exists for these moments: when the old story no longer fits and the new one hasn’t fully arrived.
At FoxFire Therapy, we work with individuals, couples, and adolescents existing inside those periods of transition. That might look like grief you haven’t had language for yet, relationships shifting under your feet, creative or professional turning points, or the particular exhaustion that comes from carrying more than anyone sees.
Our work together is reflective, collaborative, and grounded. We’ll explore the patterns that once protected you, the meanings that shape your experience, and the shifts already unfolding beneath the surface. Sometimes this work happens in conversation. Sometimes in stillness. And sometimes it happens outdoors while walking, where breath, body, and thought can move together.
If you’re navigating change that feels faster than you can adapt, you’re in the right place.
FoxFire Therapy may be a good fit if you recognize yourself somewhere in any the following…
You are working to integrate your whole self: reconciling the past with the present and taking strides toward the future.
You’re moving through an identity shift around gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, a medical diagnosis, a career change, or a role in life that no longer fits.
You and your partner are navigating communication challenges, life transitions, or other growing pains that accompany change.
You’re grieving something others may not recognize as grief: a version of yourself, a relationship dynamic, a dream, a future vision you had to release.
You feel caught between who you were and who you’re becoming, unsure how to live in the in-between.
You’re a deep thinker, feeler, or creative who processes life internally and needs a space where nuance is welcome.
Your emotional experience feels muted, delayed, or difficult to access.
You sense that something in your life is shifting, even if the language for it hasn’t arrived yet.
You are seeking insight and support with how to manage and cope with periods of depression, anxiety, compulsion, or maladaptive thinking patterns.
You want a place to explore experiences and ideas, create meaning making, and envision the fullest version of yourself possible.
You can begin exactly where you are. Therapy helps you find orientation, clarify what matters, and move forward as your identity takes shape around what’s real now.

Therapy for Where You Are Now
Individual, couples, and adolescent therapy focused on anxiety, relationships, identity, and the challenges that come with change.
Individual Therapy
When something in your life shifts, it often changes how you relate to yourself. What once felt stable can start to feel uncertain or out of reach.
Individual therapy helps you work through anxiety, grief, burnout, and identity changes with focus and clarity. We look at how stress shows up day to day—your thoughts, emotional responses, and habits—and build practical ways to move forward with more stability and direction.
Couples Therapy
Relationships change over time. The ways you communicate, handle stress, and stay connected can start to feel strained or misaligned.
Couples therapy focuses on communication, conflict, and rebuilding connection. We work through recurring arguments, emotional distance, and trust challenges by identifying how interactions unfold and creating more effective ways to communicate, repair, and move forward together.
Adolescent Therapy (13+)
Adolescence is a period of rapid growth, pressure, and identity formation. Emotions can intensify quickly, and it’s not always clear how to manage them.
Teen therapy supports adolescents dealing with anxiety, stress, identity development, and social challenges. We focus on emotional regulation, self-understanding, and confidence, while addressing school stress, peer relationships, anxieties, and neurodivergence in ways that are practical and age-appropriate.
